Into the void~

He noticed her try this and landed beside her, pecking at one of the frozen droplets. Luca held it in his beak and swallowed it easily. "I guess most Pokemon don't swallow rocks to grind up their food."

Abyss blinked, clearly surprised. "Huh? Swallow stones?" She tilted er head, curiously watching Luca swallow some ice, before it dawned on her. "Oh! Yes! Birds swallow stones because they don't- yeah..." She nodded, trailing off uncertainly. She'd always thought that predatory birds like Murkrow digested their food - a diet primarily consisting of protein - as easily as she did, another apex predator of the night. She swiped a paw across the sheet, sending marbles skittering. She grinned, mischief only growing, and flicked a marble at Luca.

It clattered against the ring on his foot and startled him, causing him to fluff out his wings and let out a squawking noise. Luca caught her eye and matched the mischievous look, flapping his wings silently to hover not far off the ground.

Abyss giggled lightly at the surprised squawk Luca made - what a silly sound - and jumped to her feet as Luca took to the air. She performed a playbow, a movement familiar to most - lowering the frontquarters to the ground, while wagging one's tail to convey harmless, friendly intentions and generally asking to play. Without warning, letting out what sounded like a breathy 'can't catch me', she skidded across the frozen dew, rolling over, now on her side, now on her back, and finally coming to a stop at the end of the field - she'd rolled clear over the area, and had little pearls glistening among her thick fur. Then she took off across the forest floor, a wraith among the night...who was glittering like an absol-ute fashion disaster. One must absol-ve from such puns.

He jumped up into the air and darted after her with silent feathers that blended in well, flying quickly towards her. A smile still spread across his beak as he did so.

Abyss moved fluidly through the undergrowth - this was what she was born to do. The wind rushed past her, weaving icy fingers through her fur, knotting the long, neat ruff. She did not care; she cut through as a blade through water. Effortless, silent, happy. She could not see Luca, but she knew he could see her, and for that, she rand for all she was worth.
